Catholic Schools Week 2009 Essay Contest for Students
This Year's theme is "Celebrating Service"


Students are invited to enter the CTN Catholic Schools Week Essay Contest and tell us how they serve their community.

Essay Topic
How do you serve others in your family, at school, and in the wider community?

Who's Eligible
Students of CTN member schools are eligble to compete in the essay contest. To see a full list of member schools by Diocese click here.

How to Enter
Students can complete the form, with their name, their school name and grade level. The online form allows students up to 100 words in the 3-4 category, and up to 250 words in the 5-6 and 7-8 category.

Students are encouraged to write a first draft, proofread their writing, and then type their writing into the online form. Teachers: Please ensure that spelling and grammar has been checked before submitting entries.

Prizes and Winners
There will be three winners in each category. Each winner will receive an iPod Nano.

Timeline

The Competition will close on January 30th and the winners will be announced in the March/April OnScreen.

Judging
The following criteria will be used in judging the writing:
Ideas and Content, Word Choice, Conventions, Organization, Voice, and Sentence Fluency.
